Being world's second largest population. India is still behind many aspects. One of the biggest set back is un awareness of menstrual hygiene in India. Antrorse Foundation is working in this field having a mission to make India an 100% Menstrual hygienic country. Now the question comes, Why is Menstrual Hygiene is so important.

Every girl becomes a women after their menstrual period is started. Each month, one of the ovaries releases an egg, a process called ovulation. At the same time, hormonal changes prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If ovulation takes place and the egg isn't fertilized, the lining of the uterus sheds through the vagina. This is a menstrual period. During which women undergo lots of diseases related to menstruation like

Dysmenorrhea refers to painful cramps during menstruation.
Premenstrual syndrome refers to physical and psychological symptoms occurring prior to menstruation.
Menorrhagia is heavy bleeding, including prolonged menstrual periods or excessive bleeding during a normal-length period.
Metrorrhagia is bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between expected menstrual periods.
Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation.
Oligomenorrhea refers to infrequent menstrual periods. Hypomenorrhea refers to light periods.

Now during this a women should always keep her body clean and the most basic for keeping her body clean is using of Sanitary Pad. A sanitary pad absorbs the bleeding and changes that to gel format. This keep a women free from many health problems Poor menstrual hygiene, however, can pose serious health risks, like reproductive and urinary tract infections which can result in future infertility and birth complications. Studies have found that giving out sanitary pads to girls leads to a significant reduction in sexually transmitted infections and bacterial vaginosis.

In India usage of Sanitary Pads is less than 20%. Talking about urban areas, only a less than 50% women use sanitary pads and usage of sanitary pads in rural parts of India is not even 15%.

When more than 20 Crores Indians sleep without having food in the night how can we expect them buy a sanitary pads? Antrorse Foundation is now working in this regards. We are now starting our manufacturing unit with best in class sanitary pads manufacturing machines. And Antrorse Foundation will distribute them for free to those who can not afford to buy or use sanitary pads. Antrorse Foundation will also conduct Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Camps where our Volunteers will explain them the importance of Menstrual Hygiene.
